Club
Constitution........

Happy New Year to
you all.
Most of our teams
have at this stage completed about 50 % of their
games. It is pleasing to see that all of the
age-groups are on course to finish at least
half-way in their respective leagues. Two teams
(Under 11's and Under 16's) are both potentially
close enough to achieve runner-up positions,
which would be an excellent achievement, given
the size of some of the Clubs they are up
against.
The winter period is
a long and hard one. With this in mind the lads
really do need your encouragement and support at
this time. The tea-ladies all do an excellent
job in keeping us warm and our refreshments are
truly second to none. There is therefore no
excuse in not being there on a crisp Sunday
morning!
The closure of RAF
Coltishall will bring much sadness and will
undoubtedly result in the loss of some players
and managers/coaches at the end of the season.
Our Club has been blessed with the support of
the RAF for 20 years or more and at times our
survival has been dependent upon this. I would
like to wish all of those who will be leaving us
every success for the future and hope that you
will stay in touch, if only by having a visit to
our website every now and then. In addition, I
thank you sincerely for your undivided support
in the time you have been with us.
On a sad note, I am
somewhat disappointed at the attitude of some of
our opposition this season. This extends to all,
including players, parents, officials and
supporters. On two occasions the away team
dressing room has been deliberately damaged by
members of the opposition. These may not be the
most elaborate, but on each occasion it has cost
both time and money to carry out the repairs.
For the future we will demonstrate that we are
not a `soft touch'. I will shortly be
recommending to our Committee that in addition
to reporting such incidents to the League or the
FA that we should also consider involving the
police, so that those concerned may be
prosecuted for criminal damage.
Finally I thank you
all for the continued contribution and support
to our Club. Without you there would truly be no
blue and red shirts of Buxton out there on a
Sunday.
